I'm Back

It's been almost a year since I blogged at this address.  I'm happy to be back and I feel like I'm home.    So much has happened since I left.  I had started back working at my old job at an oral surgeon's office.  After a year there, I realized that I was just not happy doing that type of job anymore. 

With the passing of the new Florida Food Cottage Act, I decided to finally do what my heart desires.  Open up my own Cake Decorating Business.  Michele Wendt - Decorated Cakes is now in business for two months now.

I'm happy to say that I'm getting about one to two new orders a week.  Not bad so far.  Believe me, it's not paying the bills, but any extra money helps, and it feeds my heart and soul.  Yesterday someone contacted me and asked if I would make and deliver birthday cupcakes to her grandmother who is turning 96.  How sweet!!  Love it!

Another thing I'm trying to do is become a Wilton Cake Decorating Instructor.  I was contacted by Wilton to submit pictures of my cakes.  The lady at Wilton must be busy because I'm still waiting for her to contact me via phone.  She said she just got back from vacation and will be contacting me soon.

I really hadn't cooked a lot over this past year since I started back work.  I mean, I cooked, but not the recipes I was making every week while I was here.  The past couple of weeks I have been back cooking some pretty delicious things and my family is thrilled!  I had such a yearning to take a picture of what I made that I thought I better get back on my blog.

I'm happy to be back!  I look forward to browsing your blogs too!
